Studying for my degree in the Jewellery Quarter gave me a fascinating glimpse into Birmingham's busy industrial past and its enduring creative energy.

I met many skilled craftsmen, some working tucked along Victorian alleyways, with years of experience in skills like hand engraving, polishing, stone setting and silversmithing.

It was fascinating finding out about all these skills - both new and old - and meeting the people who practise them.

I hope that my jewellery reflects my passion for the craft and attention to detail.
